Where Wild Things Grow

Reclaimed wood from the Saskatchewan prairies.

I was approached by a new client with a really cool idea to combine my geometric mountain woodwork with my coniferous tree woodburn so I immediately took to my sketch book and was so excited about the integrated concept! This piece already has a home but stay tuned – I have a couple more tree & mountain combo pieces in my current project line up! Who doesn’t love trees and mountains? The sky and tree base in this artwork are made completely out of reclaimed cedar – all of the pieces coated with the same natural oil. It always amazes me to see what varieties of colour the same type of wood can turn.
The mountains were created using very well-aged barn board for extra grey texture and shadows.
