Reclaimed wood from the Saskatchewan prairies
A message I’ve been getting quite a bit from people who are the new homes to my artwork is that the pictures I post on here do not do my pieces justice. Its a pretty humbling message to repeatedly receive because I totally know what they’re saying! In person, these little creative projects of mine almost look slightly 3 dimensional and are so beautifully textured. It’s not even me doing it! That reclaimed wood tells its own endless stories. I find the grains, and the cracks, and the colours so interesting. Decades, if not centuries, for these trees to grow tall and then be taken and transformed into infrastructure to age another century on the flatlands of Canada before I get my hands on it.
Wood in general is just the coolest texture ever.. But also, maybe I’m biased.
