Reclaimed wood from the Saskatchewan prairies
This unique and experimental art piece, featuring a silhouette of a hawk, was slightly tricky to execute. I refuse to woodburn on any stained or sealed wood because… well.. burning into chemicals is not healthy or appealing (and no pyrographer should ever be doing that!), so for this project I needed to build, glue, frame, and woodburn everything before staining the fractal sky. Things definitely got a little precarious. The colour results while staining were wildly unpredictable with the type of red cedar that I used, but oh-so-satisfying by the end.
